As the outshoot of a subdivided Grade B townhouse, this home was unusually assigned a mews address, though not technically a mews house. The compact 1 bedroom house was made into a generous 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom home with the main living space set within the garden in the conservation area of Edinburgh's West End.
In order to achieve regulation compliance for the large proportion of glazing, the design used 400mm thick perforated clay blocks from Natural Building Technologies, and triple glazed lift and slide doors.
